Saimoe Tournament 2007

Yesterday night, the last group battle of Saimoe 2007 has ended. Eight quarter finalists have been officially announced, so I decided to post about Saimoe 2007.

What is Saimoe? short explanation: Saimoe 最萌 (kanji which means, the most moe) is an annual competition held by 2ch (japanese popular anime bbs). All female anime characters that appear from 1st July 2006 to 30th June 2007 can be nominated. Read here for longer explanation.

There were total of 291 contestants for Saimoe 2007. After 3 months (the first round started at 16 July 2007) of fierce competition, there are only 8 contestants (Block A - H winners) left, and next competition at the 26th October 2007 is the start of the quarter final stage.

The last quarter final spot was unexpected, there was huge uproar at 2ch when louise was announced as the winner of group H. But I’m happy, because I prefer Louise hehe, now I have my 2 favorites still in competition, Shinku and Louise, too bad Kagami lost at the Block semi final :(
