Nice stuffs at the event! The vendors look like they have lots of cool stuff that you can never find at our event here in Vancouver -_- Even your dollfies club table is bigger than the one I saw last year ^^;

Dang, the scene here is sad T_T

Winners:
Best Costume: Indiana Jones Costume
Best Group: Final Fantasy 8 Group
Best Cosplayer: Poison Ivy
Encouragement award: Gothic Misa & Sakura, and another one forgot what her character is…

I also edited my post, I put caption on the winners :D

Gothic Misa & Sakura should of won.

If it wasnt for cleavage, ivy wouldnt of stood a chance. Or the screen adding to take more off. :P

Nice pics you have here. Sure a great mix of cosplayer’s, I reckon.

Man, regret not going as shinji. I dont even remember any evangelion ones at all, unless a blue or red wig counts.

never saw any evangelion cosplay here in melbourne =\

I want to see plugsuit cosplay!!

I went to all three days (Preview night counts in my mind, so it’s a three day convention)

Saturday had much better competition in the cosplay contest. I left before the end of the Sunday cosplay contest and I can’t believe Inuyasha didn’t win anything! He was awesome.

I agree they should bring some Seiyuu, and I would have preferred if they played the Japanese version with english subtitles for the anime they showed in the Anime Theatre.

What did they show for death note on sat? Ep1?

If so, thats just lame.

I really wished I went … I was too late!

Supanova Sydney is coming up soon. Can’t believe the convention season starts early this year in Sydney. And OMG Tama from Tamarket is wearing the Miku outfit.

@punktaku: I didn’t count the preview night tho ^^;

@Adun: yah and tama miku cosplay > other cosplays haha

This looks like a pretty fun con. Are there a lot of crowds?

Blargh, so much Naruto/Bleach. I had the pleasure of seeing some Code Geass cosplay on the recent con I went to; Oni-con. :3

>_> My apologies if I’ve offended anyone ._.

Nagato’s last blog post..Are-are was frozen in time!

This is like Anime North. Anime North is a 3 day anime convention. It’s pretty big, drawing in over 10000 anime fans a year. AN have wrestling too. Along with cosplaying sellers. Love the pictures. I so want to go to every anime convention there is. It looks like you had fun!!!

Rin’s last blog post..Back from the internet abyss…with a update…

Wow, that’s a really wicked looking storm trooper! I can’t say the same for the other cosplayers though… other than “A for Effort”? I’m no good at making costumes myself, but the quality of standard seems significantly lower than cosplayers in japan…

radiant’s last blog post..Radiant Dreamer No More

Haha Miku cosplay, that’s nice ^^;
Are voice actor popular in Australia? Over here, this will never happen since voice actor are almost all unknown.

BJDs seem to be more and more popular as well. But not really my cup of tea x_X
Prefer anime bishoujo ^^;

lu-k’s last blog post..ANIMASIA : Our Figure Booth

hey. i was there. I was IN the cosplay comp and quite franky, the majority was REALLY crap.

Kanon.
You cannot be SERIOUS about the Misa and Sakura should have won?
Yeah they had a good skit, would have been better if they had SEMI decent costume AND didn’t screw their skit up. I liked them, I really did, but they were NOT winning matieral, not that any others were mind you. If anything the Inyuasha was alright but that cosplay has been overused SO many times.

Man, i hate going to cons where the majority of contestants are noobs that know NOTHING about cosplay and think OMG I PUT A NARUTO HEADBAND ON I MUST BE A NINJA.

ugh
