‹ Nendoroid Suzumiya Haruhi ~ Good Smile Company •

This is my 1st PS3 game post. Ninja Gaiden Sigma, made by Team Ninja is one of the most enjoyable game I’ve played in PS3.
Normally, I don’t play this type of game, I prefer RPG games (like Suikoden, Final Fantasy, etc) and strategy RPG (disgaea, final fantasy tactics), but at the moment PS3 lacks this type of game ^^.
This game was released around June 2007 in Japan and July 2007 in US/Europe. This game is a remake from XBox (not 360, but the original XBox) Ninja Gaiden Black. The story remains the same, but several chapters are modified, removed and added.

Good things about this game
- Fun to play, it’s not easy, but very doable (I play on normal difficulty ^^)
- It has a little bit of RPG feeling on it, while the story progress, your hit points will be bigger, weapons will get stronger.
- Self accomplishment feeling, some of the bosses are hard, but not really frustrating, and this game is far from button mashing, you have to know what you do in order to perfectly beat some bosses.

1st chapter boss

10th Chapter boss, one of the easiest
- The movement is very fast, very ninjaish (minus stealth! seems like all the ninja here can’t stealth), once you played Ryu, you will say Kratos (God of War), Dante (Devil May Cry), and also Nariko (Heavenly Sword, Demo) move like turtles :p
- The combat system is very fun, it’s like playing fighting game, lots of moves and each weapons have different moves/combos.
- You can play Rachel (but she isn’t as fast as Ryu.. but she’s definitely powerful) ^^;

Bad things about this game
- Camera! the auto camera sucks big time… it’s good they provide auto center camera button.. I guess they have this kind of issue because the camera position is not as far as other games. But I do like bigger character on the screen =\

- Videos.. the video is still using the XBOX version! looks awful compared to the in-game CGI. Several of the videos are replaced with in-game CGI (thank god)
- Mission mode unlocked when you completed the main story, so no mission mode if you haven’t finished the story.
- The storyline is so-so..
- Rachel.. her lips is too thick… >_<

Game Scores
- Gamespot: 9.0 out of 10.0.
- IGN: 9.3 out of 10.0
- Famitsu: 33 out of 40
- EGM: 8.63 out of 10 (some points lost due of the camera issue)
- Game Informer: 9.0 out of 10
- Gametrailers: 9.1 out of 10
- My score: 8.5 out of 10 (Not my kind of game tho, but this game is gooood!)
Figurines
Kotobukiya has nice 1/6 Ninja Gaiden figurines, Ryu, Rachel, Ayane and Kureha, too bad all of them except Kureha are out of stock and discontinued :(.

1/6 Ryu Hayabusa

1/6 Rachel

1/6 Ayane

Woah the difference of quality if enormous 0_0 and Itagaki says that he only works with the best console which he claims that is the 360 and here we can see how wrong he is.

Eh? I don’t understand your comment Belela-san~ o_O?
I played the demo at my friend’s place and it was pretty decent, we had to play it…since his PS3 at the time just broke from the Gundam Musou game >.< ( the laser died, but the rest of the system worked ^^; )

how come his laser died that soon, still under warranty right?
Aya, can I add your friend to my psn friend list? ^^

I got the words wrong Aya Kyunik sometimes that happens to me. I wanted to mention the difference of quality we see in the graphics from the 360 to the PS3 in the second picture. You can see that the PS3 version is more realistic in terms of colors and anti-aliasing, in other words, more real. Sucks about the laser, normally the warranty for these things is 2 years

@ron~, you’ll have to ask him yourself, his blog is at moeworld.wordpress.com. His PS3 was still under warranty but he had to get his friend to take it back to Singapore (his friend works with the airlines so he travels a lot).
@Belela-san, ….ron has specifically stated that it was the Xbox1, NOT the Xbox360. The 360 can put out just as well as the PS3 at the moment, but who knows about the future.

The figures look nice, I played this on the original xbox but I could not finish the game. I may get this game once i get a PS3

I finished the game on normal difficulties, hardest chapter was chapter 18, 5 bosses in a row without save spot are insane >_< used up almost all my consumables.
worst part was: no item shop in chapter 19, but the final boss wasn’t hard ^^b.

culd u i add u guys too. i stil haven use the psn to add other ps3 owners n i only update the ninja gaiden scoreboard.
the mission modes r insanely difficult, i could only beat some of them but the rest drive me up the wall. make me lost the interest in unlockin further missions.
i m considerin on gettin heavenly sword nex or ratchet n clank. but since ps3 games r very expensive in my country, i can only choose one out of those two. sigh

Hey there ron,
Aya’s friend here. Been reading your blog but i always forgot to post haha.
Yea my PS3 laser got scractched. It was all Aya’s fault. He pressured my ps3 with a Gundam Wing lvl 4 special move and my ps3 got soo stressed and commited seppeku.
Everything is ok, I got ninja gaiden and i think it was great. My only concern and dislikes is that the camera can be quite a problem where you have to adjust yourself.
Couldn’t compare the video quality but it seems that it is still good.
Anyway my active PSNs are Kirakun (Australia) & Kirakun85 (Singapore)

@kirakun: I’ll add you tonight when I got back home ^^
@fabien:
sure, you can add me, my psn id is ronaldhw. where you from fabien?
agree that the mission mode is insanely difficult, but some of them are enjoyable, I like mission 1-4 (vs murai + ninjas) ^^
