Not too happy with the current PS3 tan art in the internet, so I decided to draw my own version Anyway, this one is the 1st rough draft. Need input and suggestion, what should I put on her arm and boots, also i’m going to change her boots, but still not sure about the design.

I’ve got input to make her hips (and thigh, and also butt) a lil bigger, so I’ll do that, no need to mention that again heh..

Hi~~ I’m a new writer here, Danie. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu~~ ^_^

This Yoko marked my first post here~ she’s my fave character from Gurren Lagann.
Drew her in my sketchbook, then borrowed ron’s Wacom for t3h photoshop-ing.

Spent more than 6 hours for this: 1 hour sketch, 1 hour lineart, and the rest for coloring (~_~) I’m still learning to make a proper shadow..

LOL, I just wanted to write Marina-chan’s name (..still upset she didn’t win anything in seiyuu award, well it’s rigged anyway), but decided to remove it because my Jap writing sucks..

Anyway, nice to meet you guys~ ^.^

Drew the image in paper, did the line art, and colored it with Photoshop CS3 and Wacom Intuos3.

Time for drawing: 30 mins.

Drew the picture at office lunch time ^^; the style is a bit inspired by minami-ke and aria (recent animes that I watch ^^;).

Sakura Hime from Tsubasa Chronicle. I used Photoshop CS3 with Wacom Intuos 3 Graphic Tablet for coloring. Took me 6 hours to finish everything

Actually, this one is not my first coloring, but I think this is the first one that’s decent enough to show to others ^^;

I didn’t draw the picture, got it from animenation forums, drawn by Satsumaru. Here is the line art source of the above image.

Colored the character only, and then added background image for the background.

I still need to learn more, so expect to see more art work in this blog

DIFFERENCES WITH OLDER SERIES

• Gun is based on HIT and SPD now instead of HIT only
• Axe penalized SPD now instead of HIT (axe is useful now, no more annoying misses!)
• Story characters modifiers (something like HP 110% ATK 130% etc) increase when you transmigrate them
• No more weapon skill, the skills are purchasable using mana, and you need to transmigrate to unlock higher skills
• Can’t learn skill from pupil, need to use the new Academy World for this
• You can use skill from adjacent club member when you stand next to them (but you can’t learn it using this way).
• Charater upgrades (movement range, counter attack, etc) carry over on transmigrate
• Mability (魔ビリティ) or Demon Ablility replaces character/class trait from older series
• Skills for Tower attack
• Can build tower by walking to top of character / tower, instead of Lifting
• Skill combo

STORY CHARACTERS

Mao 「マオ」

Initial character, the main protagonist for Disgaea 3. He can be physical attacker or magic attacker.

Fixed mability:
「魔王の暴勇」 increases attack power by 3% per enemy unit in the map. (fixed from increasing enemy attack). No wonder his damage is really good on the start of the turn!

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「マジカルブースト」 (800 mana) (L30) increases magic power by 15%
「フィジカルブースト」 (800 mana) (L30) increases physical power by 15%

My rating for this character: A

Almaz 「アルマース」

Join on the 1st chapter. One thing to describe this guy.. TANK!.

Fixed mability:
「勇者の誓い」 reduces physical damage by 50% if the opponent level is higher than him (TANK!).

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「勇者式防御術」 (400 mana) (L20) automatically in defense mode when attacked from front
「勇者式戦闘術」 (1200 mana) (L40) increases non attribute attack by 20%

thanks to Almaz I managed to clear chapter 1 Discipline Hall (all enemies are level 100) at low level (average level 60)

My rating for this character: S (TANK!)

Sapphire 「サファイア」

Join on early chapter 4. She’s a brutal girl, can do really massive damage with axe ^^.

Fixed mability:
「姫君の煌き」 increases adjacent male ally stats by 20%

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「姫君の期待」 (400 mana) (L25) increases adjacent ally critical rate by 20%
「姫君の命令」 (1200 mana) (L50) increases ally magic skill range by 1

I made her my healer, equipped with an axe.. she’s one brutal healer that can do more damage than almaz and mao O_O” (thanks to her second special skill..), and also her last special skill is a healing skill.

My rating for this character: A+

Razberyl 「ラズベリル」

Join on late chapter 4. Kawaii~ girl (Sapphire said that!), really.. (plus side is that she’s voiced by chiwa saito, exactly like Aria’s Aika voice.., I want beryl to say hazukashii serifu kinshi! ><).

She’s an INT type monster type character.

Ma-change type: Sword

Fixed mability:
「愛羅武勇ハート」 increases her damage by 20% if the opponent level is higher than her.

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「仏恥義理レンジ」 (400 mana) (L20) increases magic range by 2 but increase SP usage by 50% (not good for low level.. SP becomes too expensive)
「夜露死苦スロー」 (1200 mana) (L40) increases her stats by 10% everytime she get thrown. The addition stacks but only active for 1 turn, so if you throw her 5 times in 1 turn her stats will aprox 61% from base stat (increases 10% per throw from the increased stats)

Thanks to beryl too, I managed to clear Chapter 1 Hall of Discipline with my low level characters ^^, awesome damage!! thrown bonus + 20% more damage on high level characters = 5 dead lvl 100 monsters!

My rating for this character: S (Magic DPS) (well S- actually.., but since she’s very cute, I give her S instead)

Kyoko 「リリアンの狂子」

Join on late chapter 4, together with beryl. She’s a female ninja type character (kunoichi). better than the kunoichi stock class, because she has her unique skill in addition with her unique mabilities ^^.

Fixed mability:
「白百合の舞」 increases her speed by 30% when her HP is full

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「桜花隠れ」 (400 mana) (L20) increases evasion by 50% on ranged attack
「散り牡丹」 (1200 mana) (L40) increases critical rate by 80% (yep, that’s eighty percent!) if the opponent level is higher than her

She has great mabilities, on top of that, most attack on her will be miss (because of her high speed, and her mability)

My rating for this character: A-

Asuka 「折り鶴の明日禍」

Join on late chapter 4, together with beryl. She’s a female samurai type character. Better than the stock class because of her unique special skills and mabilities.

Fixed mability:
「撫子の構え」 increases her ATK by 30% when her HP is full

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「雛菊の誓い」 (400 mana) (L20) no damage from ally attack
「乱れ椿」 (1200 mana) (L40) increases critical rate by 30% when opponent is higher level than her

My rating for this character: A- (She can do more damage than Mao!)

Champloo Sensei 「チャンプル先生」

Join on mid chapter 5.

Fixed mabilitiy:
「獅子の構え」 increases his counter damage by number of damage he receives

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「阿吽の呼吸」 (400 mana) (L25) increases skills combination damage by 50%
「連武陣」 (1200 mana) (L50) increases team attack damage by 50%

Mr. Big Star 「ビッグスター様」

Temporarily join on chapter 8. To get him permanently you have to pass this bill 「ビッグスター様に会いたい」 (1000 mana). To unlock the bill: after clearing chapter 8, talk with the Town NPCs, you’ll get notice about new bill.

「貴様の攻撃など効かぬ」 reduces damage received from Human type by 50%.

Salvatore the Magnificent 「極上のサルバトーレ」

Temporarily join on chapter 8. To get him permanently you have to pass this bill 「サルバトーレに会いたい」 (2000 mana). To unlock this bill: after Mr. Big Star joined, talk with the Town NPCs, you’ll get notice about new bill.

「D・プロテクション」 reduces damage from special attack by 50%.

No other mability.

My Rating: B (for his mability only, put him next to attacking character and then put him back to base ^_^)

Asagi 「アサギ」

To get her permanently you have to pass this bill 「別ゲームの主人公に会いたい」 (8000 mana). To unlock this bill: after Red Ranger joined, talk with the Town NPCs, you’ll get notice about new bill.

She’s a level 500 character.

She can walk quite far, and her second mability is quite useful in item/academy world. Her unique skills are based on HIT.

So far she has the best idle animation She’s also voiced by Chiwa Saito (Razberyl’s)

Fixed mabilitiy:
「ヒロインドリーム」 increases ability by 5% per male ally unit in the map.

Special mability:
「スカイハイ」 (4000 mana) (L800) changes movement type to Flying
「デッドオアアライブ」 (20000 mana) (L1600) normal attack crititical rate is 100% when giving and receiving damage

My Rating: B+ (A if you have more boys in your party ^^)

Marone 「マロネ」

To get her permanently you have to pass this bill 「迷子の女の子に会いたい」 (18000 mana). To unlock this bill: after Asagi joined, talk with the Town NPCs, you’ll get notice about new bill.

She’s a level 800 character, I got her when my team average level was around LV400.

Haven’t used her much, she’s a healer type character with several unique INT attack spells.

Fixed mabilitiy:
「ヒロインドリーム」 increases ability by 5% per male ally unit in the map.

Special mability:
「魂の絆」 (5000 mana) (L1000) removes time restriction on ma-change
「魂のきらめき」 (25000 mana) (L2000) increase ally mana gain by 20%

He’s a level 1200 character, I got him when my team average level was around LV450. (Use sleep magic to make things easier )

Haven’t used her much, she’s a healer type character with several unique INT attack spells.

His second unique skills has the best animation

Special mability:
「バラエティ」 (5000 mana) (L1600) reduces non attribute damage to 0 if HP is 25% or below

Laharl 「ラハール」

To get her permanently you have to pass this bill 「別魔界の魔王に会いたい」 (64000 mana). To unlock this bill: after Axell joined, talk with the Town NPCs, you’ll get notice about new bill.

He’s a level 1500 character, I got him when my team average level was around LV650. (took me like 5 tries…)

He will join together with Etna and Flonne.

He can learn all the normal sword skills from the trainer (up to the 4800 mana sword skill).

Fixed mabilitiy:
「超魔王魂 」 increases special attack damage by 20%.

Special mability:
「大激怒」 (7000 mana) (L2000) increases ATK 5% everytime hit by normal attack
「制圧の眼光」 (40000 mana) (L3000) reduces damage by 50% if the opponent HP is 50% or below

Etna 「エトナ」

To get her permanently you have to pass this bill 「別魔界の魔王に会いたい」 (64000 mana). To unlock this bill: after Axell joined, talk with the Town NPCs, you’ll get notice about new bill.

She’s a level 1500 character, I got her when my team average level was around LV650. (took me like 5 tries…)

She’s a level 1500 character, I got her when my team average level was around LV650. (took me like 5 tries…)

She will join together with Laharl and Etna.

Her unique skills are all INT type (why I want to make her archer, well at least bow skills good enough already)

「愛フィールド」 Ally units immune to one hit die effect (critical).

Special mability:
「総天然オーラ」 (7000 mana) (L2000) reduces elemental attack damage by 50%
「癒しパラダイス」 (40000 mana) (L3000) increases effectiveness of recovery spells received damage by 100% for all allies on map.

My Rating: A (Should be B, but she’s Flonne! one whole point for cuteness)

Warrior (F) 「戦士・女」

Decent class, but I didn’t use her anymore since Asuka joined. I’m using her now, good class :p

The only class that can learn Ultimate Spear skill from trainer (other classes need to use academy world, and learn from this character).

Fixed mability:
「アサルトアタック」 increases her damage by n x 10% where n is her move range before she attacks. Good mability.

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「シールドマスタリ」 (1000 mana) (R2) reduces normal attack received by 50%
「パワーショット」 (5000 mana) (R4) adds 30% ATK to HIT when bow is equipped
「スピアスティング」 (30000 mana) (R6) adds 30% HIT to ATK when spear is equipped

My rating: B+

Archer (F) 「アーチャー・女」

To unlock:
Level 15 Warrior (F) 「戦士・女」 and Level 15 Healer (F) 「僧侶･女」

She’s a beast.. massive damage with long range!

This class can learn Ultimate Bow skill from trainer (other classes need to use academy world, and learn from this character).

Fixed mability:
「加速射撃」 increases her damage by n x 5% where n is her range from the enemy. Very superior mability, most of the time I get +30% damage.

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「落鳳破」 (1000 mana) (R2) increases damage by 50% on flying target
「ボーイハント」 (5000 mana) (R4) increases damage by 50% on male target

My rating: S

Thief 「盗賊」

Decent class, damage is decent. Main purpose of leveling her is for stealing, oh and also She can create boxes now.

Fixed mability:
「盗人の技」 doubles steal success rate.

My Rating: B- (I give her C if not because of those boxes!)

Wizard (F) 「魔法使い・女）」

Good class, very mana efficient, but she’s very weak, and short movement range

Fixed mability:
「魔力節制」 reduces SP usage by 50%. very good mability, I miss this mability when I transmigrate her to Magic Knight..

My Rating: B (short movement..)

Magic Knight 「魔法剣士」

To unlock:
Level 25 Warrior (F) 「戦士・女」 and Level 25 Wizard (F) 「魔法使い・女」

Good DPS class, better damage than wizards.

Fixed mability:
「精霊の祝福」 increases attribute based damage by 20%

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「エレメントフォース」 (1000 mana) (R2) not that sure about this mabilities, the description says: reflect attribute values to each attribute attack power (plus attributes only)
「エコー」 (5000 mana) (R4) 25% chance to do double cast

My Rating: S+ (no class can beat her in elemental damage!)

Druid 「賢者」

To unlock:

Level 20 Healer (F) 「僧侶･女」 and Level 20 Martial Artist (F) 「格闘家・女」

Fixed mability:
「ジオエナジー」 increases ability by 10% per geo block color

Haven’t test him whether he’s immune from geo block destruction damage (like in D2) or not.

Healer (F) 「僧侶･女」

Bad damage, short movement range, but plenty of supports.

Fixed mability:
「光の加護」 reduces magical damage on her adjacent allies by 50%.

Her mability is actually quite good.. but too bad she normally dies first =_=

Cheerleader 「応援師」

To unlock:
Level 25 Druid 「賢者」, Level 30 Wizard (F) 「魔法使い・女」 and Level 30 Healer (F) 「僧侶･女」

New class in Disgaea 3. She’s a buffer class, I transmigrate my healer to cheerleader and make her my healer/buffer. she also has better damage (with gun) compared to female healer.

Fixed mability:
「ラブリーソング」 increases the stats of all allied unit on map by 5%.

She can do really nice buffs, like + movement range, + critical, + counter etc. really2 useful.

My Rating: B+

Witch Doctor 「呪術師」

To unlock:
Level 25 Druid 「賢者」 and Level 30 Wizard (M) 「魔法使い・男」

New class in Disgaea 3. No comment on this class yet, haven’t played her.

Fixed mability:
「カーズドダンス」 decreases the stats of all enemy unit on map by 5%.

Berserker 「狂戦士」

To unlock:
Level 40 Heavy Knight 「重騎士」 and Level 40 Beast Tamer 「魔物使」

New class in Disgaea 3. Best character class for Item World and Academy World! Long movement range, flying (can walk through enemies), and have fist weapon proficiency! (knock back skills). Their rank 6 mability gives them +3 more movement range while lowering their stats by 30%.

Fixed mability:
「トリックムーブ」 increases his evasion by 10% per move tile (eg: when he moves 6 tiles, he’ll get 60% evasion increase) (on that turn only, including the enemy turn).

Special mabilities (can only equip one at a time):
「弱肉強食」 (1000 mana) (R2) increases ability by 50% when attacking lower level target
「優越感」 (5000 mana) (R4) reduces damage by 50% from lower level attacker
「チキンハート」 (30000 mana) (R6) increases movement by 3 while lowering stats by 30%

My Rating: A (Best character to help lowbies level up, but I don’t use him, got akutare instead ^^)

Rozalin 「ロザリンド」

「王女の煌き」increases adjacent seat (in classroom) male ally stats by 10%

Tiger’s Den Club 「真・強奪商店」

This bill is unlocked by obtaining one ticket (or like Maps in disgaea 2) from pirates in the item world. The pirates can be found on 21F or higher floor, they will rarely pop on the second turn.

Having at least one character joining this club will unlock Tiger’s Den NPC (a ronin standing on top of stairs near Heart Bank NPC). you need to clear 25 Tiger’s Den stages to unlock Land of Carnage.

Reverse Pirating Club 「逆界賊団」

This bills is unlocked by defeating all enemies when a pirate appears in the Item World.

Having at least one character joining this club will unlock the option to perform Reverse Pirate from the Item World NPC (second option)

How to unlock Hall of Discipline (D1 & D2 Cave of Ordeal Equivalent)?

In order to see the bill in the homeroom you need to have at leat 7000 mana on 1 character.

The bill name is 「錬武の館へのゲートを開きます」. It costs 7000 mana.

I unlocked Hall of Discipline when I’m at chapter 7-1, under 40 hours of gameplay.

How to beat Hall of Discipline (D1 & D2 Cave of Ordeal Equivalent) Chapter 1? All the enemies are standing on “Enemy Invicibility” 「敵無敵 」 geo panels!

The three Enemy Invicibility 「敵無敵」 geo blocks will be destroyed (one geo block destroyed per turn, they are on timer, you can see the number on the geo block) after three turns. After that the geo panels will give you +50% mana and +50% experience.

How to remove the orcs out from homeroom?

Place female character in front of the orc at the corner.
Place male character in front of the orc at the other side (not the middle one).
Surround the the middle orc with characters.

How to remove the Rangers out from homeroom (after expansion)?

Red, Purple and Yellow rangers: Put Prinny next to them
Blue ranger: Surround him with male characters
Green ranger: Surround him with female characters

I passed this bill in homeroom 「酷語の授業を受けたい」 (500 mana cost), but nothing happened. No new character class, nothing.

That bill enables you to use Kanji (Japan’s Chinese character) for character names.

How to buy shoes, glasses and belts?

see the Committee/Club section on Glasses Adoration Club, Shoes Union, and Justice Squadron.

How to learn new weapon skills for story characters (Mao, Almaz, etc)?

Two ways, weapon trainer and academy world (learning from other character in the same club). Story characters won’t get new weapon skills after transmigrate, Mao sword skills are only limited to 3 sword skills from the trainer. Warriors get 5 sword skills (need Rank 2 (R2) warriors for 4th sword skill and R3 warriors for 5th sword skill), and samurai get all 6 sword skills (need R4 samurai to get all skills). to get those skills, story character needs to go to academy world and pay 10x the standard mana price of learning that skill (eg: warriors pay 1200 mana to learn dark wing slash, Mao needs 12000 mana to learn it from him). Legendary skills acquired from clearing geoblocks stage 10 is also learnable this way.

Any release date for English version?

Yes, this August 2008.

Can you learn other character special / fixed mabilities?

You can’t learn their fixed mability, but you can learn their special mabilities via Academy world. Mao special mabilities are nice (+15% physical/magical), they only cost 800 mana, so only 8000 mana when you learn it from academy world.

How to get Legendary skills (D2 skills)?

Legendary skills can be learned from prinny NPC in the stage 10 of academy world, the gate will appear when you clear all the geo blocks on stage 10. There are 2 possible NPC, the prinny NPC (to learn legendary skill, around 20% chance) and masked hero NPC to increase the club size that the academy world character in. You can select any legendary skills (2 per weapon type) to be learned by the academy world character. to make other character learn the skill, you can use normal learn skill from the afro prinny (10x mana cost).

How to get some of the endings

Hero Mao ending: kill the hand at the end of the chapter 1 twice.
Rasberyl ending: Get a game over in the Chapter 2 boss fight.
Evil Mao ending: kill 100 people ( might be story charaters in there I haven’t done this one yet).
Jiiya ending: kill the last boss with only Mao.
Almaz ending: kill the last boss with only Almaz (hint I like to call him stupid)
Normal ending: don’t do anything above.

How to get to the Land of Carnage

You need to beat 25 stages in the tiger den (NPC found on the stairs near the bank heart NPC). To unlock this NPC you need to pass a bill　「虎の穴」　from home room, the bill is unlocked by obtaining one ticket (or like Maps in disgaea 2) from pirates in the item world. The pirates can be found on 21F or higher floor, they will rarely pop on the second turn. 1 Ticket will open 1 stage in tiger den, so you need total of 24 tickets (1 stage opened when you unlock it, unique tickets). There’s also a mystery gate in the item world that has NPC selling the tickets.

Where are the high level weapons?

Rank 31-34 weapons are only available in Item worlds, rank 35+ weapons are only available in Land of Carnage.

How to do reverse pirating?

Defeat all enemies when a pirate appears in the Item World to get his/her ship, then you will unlock a bill　「逆界賊団」　to reverse pirating club,　put at least one character in the club to enable the reverse pirating menu (2nd menu from item world NPC). you can only do reverse pirate once in every 20 floors per item.

How to do map 3 stage 1 in tiger den… with all those invincible, no lifting, and silence geopanels and prinnies enemies?

Bring at least 3 prinnies with you (more better.., even level 1 prinnies will do). The enemies invincible to damage, but not from prinnies explosion (which will instantly kill them). Pull the enemies carefully to your base panel, then put a character out to a space adjacent to the base panel; take a prinny out, but stay in the base panel, lift the prinny using that character, and throw it to the enemy for KABOOM!

How to get Pleinair?

You need to download the survival attack DLC and either: finish 150 floor; or gather 7 level sphere (lift the sphere and throw the lifting character to the next floor gate) and choose the option 「マスコットガール欲しい」 (I want the mascot girl). after you finish the survival floors, you’ll get new stage to unlock Pleinair.

in the Easy mode for the survival you’ll encounter lvl100s on early floors and lvl400s on 150ish floor, it will take you around 3 hours (at least for me.. with around lvl 1500 characters) to reach floor 150.

Survival Mode

In the survival mode you need to kill enemy to get points, when you get the points a gate to the next floor will open. The point needed starts at 150 and increase by 100 per turn. Each enemy has different points, and normally the treasure chest has the biggest point.

All your character will have no equipment when starting survival mode, you can equip the equipment you found while clearing the floor, but it will all get removed after you fight the 10th floor boss (you’ll find them in your bag after you finish survival mode).

You can skip floor either by killing pirate (skip 4-5 floors) or by collecting 7 level spheres (skip 30 floors)

TIPS

Easy money (HL) on Chapter 6-1

You can get at least 450k per run on this chapter, fast and easy, great EXP, great Mana and great money. There are 3 groups of enemies on top of 20% level up geo block. Everytime you destroy the geo blocks, the enemies will drop and will have around 400-800 HP left (depends on the level). 1st group will get aggresive once they are higher than level 74, 2nd group will get aggresive when they get to level higher than 124 and last group on level 177. Aggressive means when you are in their movement + attack range, they will jump out of the geo block and attack you. so be carefull, the level 177 will probably one shot your character. best strategy is to have 1 geoblock thrower, 1 character thrower (or 2), and 1 (or 2) person to kill them with area damage skil. The enemies are weak to fire (-50% fire attribute), which make things easier as well .
