‹ Comiket Day 3, Cosplay Photos •

This place is actually a Pachinko center…
I’m back from overseas holiday (Japan and Indonesia), bought some rare loots ^^. Hit the jump for the summary.
oh, and this weekend (15-16 September), there will be Melbourne Anime Festival at Melbourne University, ticket will be $40 for Sat and Sun entries or $30 for 1 day entry. More information can be found on their website.
Spent 10 days 9 nights in Tokyo, most of them were in the holy land Akihabara (^o^).. never got enough of that place ^^
Day 1

Arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport around 9 am, went to New Koyo ryokan (backpacker hotel.. 2500 yen per night, very cheap ^^ 1.5m x 2m room with hard futon >_< but close from akihabara) arrived around 10 am, put my bag, and went straight to Tokyo Big Sight for 1st day of comiket arrived around 11.30am, The photo above was the line to the cosplay area.. ugh
Bought cospa saber colloseum t-shirt and some doujin thingies that NSFW hehe..
Day 2

Went to C3x Hobby Festival with my friend (he’s studying in Yokohama) and his wife. Not as crowded as Comiket (way less crowded..), not many things shown in here, went to Akihabara at 4pm.
Bought Nikon D40 DSLR camera at Akihabara for 49800yen (around AUD$500, which is 1/2 price of australia RRP…). All the photos beyond this point were taken with D40.
Day 3

Back to Comiket with my friend, this time I spent most of my time in the cosplay area, more cosplay photos can be found here. Met someone from Melb that study in Japan, he was queuing on doujin area :p.
Spent the night in Akihabara.
Bought cospa asuka t-shirt and some doujins that also NSFW :p
Day 4

Spent the whole day in Akihabara, entering shop by shop.
Bought Fate/Stay Night premium fan book with several other doujins.
Day 5

Spent whole day in Akihabara also, found the Asuka figurine that I’d wanted but gave up months ago.. the black dress summer Asuka.. only found 2 places that sell this figurine.. one was 10500 yen (bought) and the other was 12000 yen (ouch..)
Also bought some Asuka trading figurines, <3 the yellow dress Asuka.
Day 6

Went to Yokohama to visit my friend, went to yokohama harbor, chinatown, europe town (photo above), etc. Spent the night at my friend place.. finally a good bed…
Bought Disgaea 2 Character fan book at Yokohama Yodobashi (big mart with cheap price that sells electronic, games, and otaku stuffs)
Day 7

Went to disney land.. way too crowded!! the average waiting time for a ride was over 1 hour >_<
Spent the night at Shibuya, Tokyo infamous Night Life suburb.
Nothing otaku also today
Day 8

Another Akihabara day, went to big building with lots of evangelion decorations, even got the lifesized asuka and rei (photo above).. but to my disappointment, there were only pachinkos inside.. Evangelion theme pachinko -_-
Bought Kotobukiya Princess figurine cute ^^, Evangelion 1000 pcs jigsaw puzzle both at Akiba Yodobashi, and bought several others small things.
Day 9

Last day in Akihabara (but I was wrong~), found someone walking in Akiba with kamen rider outfit (photo above) in front of Asobit city (otaku mart) .
Bought Max Factory Etna (hehe, found a shop that has 1 and sell for normal price, lucky~), Wave’s To Heart Lucy and small things :p
Day 10

Packed all my item and then went to Asakusa with my friend, saw temples etc then went to Akiba for the really last time :p
Went to Narita airport at 3pm, then flew to Surabaya, Indonesia to visit my family ^^
Last figurine from my holiday trip is 1/5 Alter Asuka
found it in hobby store in my home town
This weekend going to do photo shoot with my new Camera, can’t wait
ps: My office upgraded their proxy, can’t surf anything from office now -_- they even block http request outside port 80, poor me…… no more otakuing from office ><

Wow you’re really crazy about Eva. And you spent so many days in Akiba, is it really that big?

Haha you’re definitely the biggest Asuka fan I ever seen ^^
Alter’s 1/5 figure is awesome. And this black dress one looks huge! (or maybe it’s because the other Asuka are small hehe) What scale/size is she?
Too sad your office’s now blocking web access. Feel sorry ;_;

Wow, Eva practically the hope trip lol. I guess you enjoyed yourself. The black dress Asuka looked very nice and I guess you got a sweet deal for it ;p. I’m going to see if I can go to Akiba to score some figures next time I go, maybe pick up that chibi rei in the kimono…I should have bought it when I saw it T-T…it was around 1000 yen.

@shinohai: yah it was a lovely holidays, many rare things in akiba, but some of them way overpriced..
@AS: I like the black dress asuka alot, I wanted to find the yellow dress PVC, but can’t find it anywhere..

Haha, you just got back from a vacation trip to otakuland and now you’re ready to dive into the next otaku-event. Way to go^^
You must have had a great time, despite the hard futon. I wonder how Disneyland Japan is. I’ve already been to all the Disneylands save for the asian ones. I’ll get there sometime in the future.
Did you need extra luggage on your way back home? ;P
September 15, 2007 at 12:48 pm
I went to japan with 12 kg baggage and 6 kg cabin luggage, I left japan with 22kg baggage (limit was 20kg, but they allowed my 22kg luggage without paying overweight fees) and 12kg cabin luggage hehe

Pretty cool that you got the D40 for $500, although it is a bit old. Still, it’s not the equipment that matters, it how you use it!
Also the place you stayed at in Tokyo is relatively close to the place I stayed at a few years ago:

woah that place andon is quite expensive 8190 yen either for single, double or twin =\
at newkoyo you get your own single room for 2500 yen, but yah, the futon and the pillow weren’t comfy…
